Discovery learning and authentic formative assessment, when implemented effectively, can naturally help our students become better critical thinkers and more autonomous learners of mathematics.  In this keynote, we will explore & discuss strategies through which teachers can foster dynamic student-centered learning and formative assessment not just once-in-a-while, but on a continual, daily, ongoing basis. Through this, we will also explore ways through which we can effectively differentiate each student’s active engagement (within both processes of discovery and formative assessment) throughout the curriculum. Through this, we will experience how we can foster such sample learning environments within Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus curricula.
