Building Rational Number Sense through "The Grapes of Math" and More!

During this session, participants will be engaged in open-ended problem-solving tasks which develop rational number sense. Participants will learn how to translate story-book pictures as well as pictures of the world around them into meaningful mathematical tasks that involve fractions, operations with fractions, ratios and proportions, which are appropriate for students in grades 4th - 7th. Participants will leave with a variety of activities that can be implemented immediately.

Making Secondary Math Accessible for All

We are a 8-9 math team that works to make secondary math content, as well as number sense and proportional thinking, accessible to all learners through hands-on materials and movement.
